Where to Drink During the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia

by Jessie Donofrio on Apr 24, 2017 in Roundups

The 82nd NFL Draft Experience is coming to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29, and the NFL is pulling out all of the stops with tons of entertainment for fans, including a 100-yard zip line and photo ops with the Vince Lombardi Trophy. With 200,000 expected draft attendees, you may want to escape the action on the parkway and head to one of Philly’s great local bars, so we’ve rounded up the best places to grab a drink and catch some of the action on TV while the 2017 draft is in town!

Hop off the Parkway and head down 18th Street to this modern, art-themed bar for some food and drink specials. Grab a draft beer and two hot dogs for $7, a draft and a burger for $10 or chips, or salsa and guacamole for $4. (1800 Market St.)

The Cambridge
Celebrate the Eagles' draft picks at this South Street bar. Whenever the Eagles are on the clock, bar guests can enjoy $4 pints of Yard’s Philly Pale Ale, St. Benjamin’s Wit or Witout, Dock St Rye IPA and half-priced sweet sesame or garlic hot wings. (1508 South St.)

Not a huge fan of the draft, but love a great dramatic TV series? Jet Wine Bar is hosting the perfect NFL Draft weekend event for you. Starting at 9 PM on the 27th, the South Street wine bar will be hosting a Friday Night Lights marathon through the weekend. They’re also offering a special $5 themed cocktail, the Panther Punch (white rum, hibiscus syrup, strawberry, and lemon) to sip on throughout the weekend. (1525 South St.)

The Little Lion
Head to the upstairs bar at this Old City spot to catch the draft and enjoy $3 Lagers and $1 oysters. (243 Chestnut St.)

Pregame draft week with a tailgate party hosted by Quincy Harris of Fox 29’s “The Q Show.” On Tuesday, April 25 from 5-7 PM, guests can enjoy local beers, game day food, games like corn hole and ladder toss, and football themed raffle prizes from brands like Mitchell & Ness. Best of all registration is free! (1701 John F Kennedy Blvd.)

Enjoy NFL-themed drink specials at this Center City staple like the Game Day Shandy (PBC Walt Wit, lemon soda, watermelon liquor and lemonade) and the Philly Tailgate (shot of Jim Beam and a PBR). They’ll also have special pricing on six Philadelphia draft beers from Yards, PBC, Troegs, Sly Fox, Stoudt’s and Lancaster Brewing. (1310 Drury St.)

Stopping into town and can’t decide what kind of cheesesteak to get? At Nick’s, you don’t have to! Grab a cheesesteak trio for $15,which includes three different versions of Philly’s favorite sandwich. They’ll also have Yards Draft Day IPA on tap to enjoy with your meal. Draft ticket holders receive 10% off their bill. (16 S 2nd St.)

For an upscale draft experience, Ocean Prime is offering a special “3 round” prix fixe dinner for $125 with an optional $50 Coravin wine pairing. Rounds include choices of Point Judith calamari, goat cheese ravioli, Tomahawk ribeye, and whole stuffed Maine Lobster with a final course choice of warm butter cake or chocolate peanut butter pie. The menu will be available April 27-30. (124 S 15th St.)

Wine lovers rejoice! This Fishtown wine bar will be offering two special NFL Draft wine flights during draft week. The first is a “Fullback Wine Flight” with wines from Piedmont, Italy and the second an “Offensive Line Wine Flight” with wines from the Old World. (1206 Frankford Ave.)

Taproom on 19th
Watch the draft with a $4 Founders All Day IPA in hand at this South Philly bar. (2400 S. 19th St.)
