Welcome to Philly’s Best Happy Hours, a feature highlighting great happy hours in different neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia. Since Drink Philly started out as a place to find happy hours in the city, we thought it was only right to return to our roots and turn the spotlight on some of Philly’s absolute best happy hour deals.
In this installment, we’re covering Michael Schulson’s acclaimed izakaya
Double Knot (where we recently had the chance to
interview head bartender Jefferson Oatts). Situated right next door to
Sampan, another Schulson Collective restaurant, Double Knot’s all-day cafe model has been an enormous hit in Midtown Village, with coffee and lunch served throughout the day, a bustling upstairs bar in the evenings, and a dimly-lit, sultry dining room downstairs that serves full dinners of omakase, izakaya, sushi, and more.
Their happy hour, which runs every single day of the week from 4 PM - 7 PM at the upstairs bar only, has some of the best deals in the city — particularly when it comes to their food — and features $4 house wines, beer, sake, and a featured cocktail of the day. In addition to those drink deals, you can also score several $9 cocktails, including:
Double Knot Punch
Varies regularly
Two Lovers Knot
Vodka, yuzu, cucumber, cherry blossom, bubbles
Sailor’s Hitch
Cachaca, Japanese plum cordial, charred lime

According to the
