Shiner Beer Donates $100,000 to Hurricane Irma Relief

As hurricanes continue to devastate the US some breweries are helping out, including most recently The Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas. The brewer of Shiner Bock, Spoetzl announced on Wednesday, September 16, that it would making a $100,000 donation to nonprofit organizations for relief efforts in Florida following Hurricane Irma. The donation will be split between the Center for Disaster Philanthropy and the United Way of Miami-Dade. In a press release,
“Nearly all of us in Shiner have family or loved ones who were affected by Hurricane Harvey here in Texas less than two weeks ago,” said Shiner brewmaster Jimmy Mauric in a press release. “We wanted to reach out a helping hand to our friends in Florida who are facing similar hardships.” The brewery only recently donated $500,000 to hurricane relief efforts in its own state of Texas, which was slammed by Hurricane Harvey in late August.
