Warm Up at These Bars with Fireplaces in Philadelphia

Well, the time has come—cold weather is officially here. With that brings hot cocktails, dark beers, deep red wines and the need to stay warm and dry. The perfect place to beat the cold is warming up at your favorite local spot by the fireplace with a drink in hand.

Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest (101 S Christopher Columbus Blvd.; 215-925-7465)
What’s better than warming up by a fire pit after a nice skate? Warming up along with some Jose Garces grub, Chickie’s and Pete’s Crab Fries and a build your own spiked hot chocolate—all of which you can get at the lodge.

Bourbon & Branch (705 N 2nd St.; 215-238-0660)
Head to this cozy southern-inspired Northern Liberties restaurant for whiskey cocktails and delicious food. Visit during happy hour and you’ll get $5 Old Fashioneds and Whiskey Sours.

Brauhaus Schmitz  (718 South St.; 267-909-8814)
There's nothing better than a stein of beer and a plate of schnitzel during the cold months to warm you from the inside, especially if enjoyed fireside at this German spot.

Bridgid’s (726 N 24th St.; 215-232-3232)
Dine on some gnocci's or just grab a few beers at Fairmount’s comfortable Irish bar with Italian-inspired food, and of course make sure to sit by the fireplace.

The Dandelion (124 S 18th St.; 215-558-2500)
Visit this Stephen Starr restaurant for unique British cuisine and crafted cocktails like the hot chai cider. This isn’t the only Starr Restaurant with a fireplace - there’s also Jones, Continental Midtown and Frankford Hall.
