Philly's Best Happy Hours: Zavino's $3 Beers, $5 Wines, & $8 Pizzas
Welcome to Philly’s Best Happy Hours, a feature highlighting great happy hours in different neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia. Since Drink Philly started out as a place to find happy hours in the city, we thought it was only right to return to our roots and turn the spotlight on some of Philly’s absolute best happy hour deals.
This time, we're focusing on Zavino, which serves up wood-fired pizzas alongside an excellent wine program on the corner of 13th and Sansom right in the heart of Midtown Village. This beloved, casual spot, which has another outpost in University City, is a perfect destination for classic, approachable, and delicious Italian food.
Their happy hour, which runs Monday through Friday from 4:30 - 6:30 throughout the restaurant, offers not just great deals on wine and beer, but food as well.
Select wines during happy hour are just $5, but if you want to branch out and try some of their Italian varietals, you can always get a half glass of wine, which range from $5 to $6.50.
They also offer three beers on draft during happy hour for $3 a glass, and in partnership with Philadelphia Brewing Company, they offer the brewery's Kenzinger, Walt Wit, and Newbold IPA.
Alongside drink specials, they have food like cheese bread, meatballs, and seasonal crostinis, which range from $5 to $8, but the best deal of all is their signature margherita pizza, which will only cost you $8 during happy hour (with its regular price as $15).
Danielle Kessler, one of Zavino's bartenders, says, "Our happy hour is a great chance to enjoy good drinks and snack on some of our popular dishes. Everything is sharable, so bring your friends and come visit!"
Next time you're in Midtown Village during happy hour, don't overlook Zavino - so stop in for a freshly made pizza and a glass of Philadelphian beer or Italian wine.
