Philadelphia Distilling Has Released a Limited Edition Bluecoat Elderflower Gin
Philadelphia Distilling has created a new gin that's perfect for the summer and exclusive to its Fishtown distillery - Bluecoat Elderflower Gin, which will be on sale starting on Thursday, May 17 and will sell for $35 per bottle.
Head distiller Aaron Selya created this fresh, floral infused gin by macerating elderflower into the distillery's flagship product, Bluecoat American Dry Gin. In a press release, Andrew Auwerda, the president of the distillery, said of the new spirit, “With a smooth foundational spirit, our distilling team was eager to experiment with the delicate touch of elderflower and the new distillery-only bottling reflects our distillers’ talents and the evolution of Bluecoat’s unique style. Bluecoat Elderflower is the continuation of our local legacy in gin and mixes well in classic gin cocktails, with sparkling wines, or simply poured over ice.”
If you visit the distillery for the inaugural weekend of Bluecoat Elderflower Gin and purchase it from the distillery's retail store, you'll get a few bonuses - anyone who purchases a bottle between Thursday, May 17 and Sunday, May 20 will receive a complimentary cocktail at the tasting room, and to celebrate the new spirit, a few cocktails have been added to the list, including an Elderflower Martini. Guests can can also purchase a flight, which now includes all three of the distillery's signatures gins (American Dry Gin, Barrel-Aged Gin, and Elderflower Gin) for $9.
