Philly's Best Happy Hours: Amis' $7 Cocktails, $7 Wines, & $5 Bar Snacks
Welcome to Philly’s Best Happy Hours, a feature highlighting great happy hours in different neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia. Since Drink Philly started out as a place to find happy hours in the city, we thought it was only right to return to our roots and turn the spotlight on some of Philly’s absolute best happy hour deals.
For this installment, we're focusing on Amis, the Italian trattoria in Washington Square West. Originally opened by one of the city's most venerable chefs, Marc Vetri, this quiet yet bustling spot is best known for its housemade cacio e pepe and bucatini with jalapeño and almod pesto, alongside other traditional Roman dishes.
Though Amis has been open since 2010, this is the first time they have offered happy hour, which is now available on Mondays through Thursdays from 5 PM to 7 PM at the bar, on the patio, or at any of high top tables.
Their drink selections include cocktails for $7, with offerings like a classic Negroni, the Amis Punch (which is made with vodka, Aperol, and lime), and a vermouth sparkler.
If you're looking for wine or beer, they also offer $5 rotating drafts as well as $7 wines, including red, white, and rosé selections, which will also rotate.
If you're hungry, take a look at their $6 bar snacks, including three bruschettas — eggplant caponata, mortadella mousse, or bufala ricotta — alongside small plates like mozzarella with rhubarb and brussels sprouts with lemon.
If you're in Washington Square West, head south on 13th Street and settle in for an early evening snack — you can't go wrong with any of the bruschetta or a classic cocktail like a Negroni.
