If you haven’t had a chance to drink a fresh pint of Guinness in Ireland, no worries, because Guinness is opening a 62 acre brewery and taproom just south of Baltimore in Halethorpe, Maryland on August 3.

The $80 million Guinness Open Gate Brewery & Barrel House will feature tours, tastings, and a 270 seat restaurant with 92 taps on site. The brewery will focus on an extensive barrel-aging program and will produce new styles like IPAs, Belgians, and sours. One thing they won’t be producing at the Maryland brewery is the classic stout, which will be imported from Dublin for guests to enjoy at the brewery.

The beer giant chose Baltimore to open its first US outpost since 1954 due to the fact their parent company Diageo had already owned the property, using it as a bottling facility for Captain Morgan. The company hopes to attract over 300,000 visitors in its first year offering multiple tour options and a visitors center and it plans on hiring over 200 people to staff the brewery.

Ryan Wagner, brand ambassador for the company, told the Baltimore Sun: “We want you to show up, feel welcome from the minute you walk in, get a bit of an education, have a beer or two and then come back the next time. More than anything else, we want people to come here and experience all of our culture.”
