The Loews Philadelphia Hotel's Newest Bar is Made From a Steamer Trunk
The Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Center City is playing host to a new, completely unique bar this winter — The Bellhop Bar, a retro-fitted steamer trunk bar which will open up daily serve up bespoke beverages and handcrafted cocktails.
The trunk, which houses apothecary-style bottles filled with pre-batched cocktails made with Angel's Envy Bourbon and Hangar One Vodka, is open from 5 PM - 7 PM daily and will run through mid-January of 2019. One red and one sparkling wine will also be available, and every day at 5 PM, a bell will signal the literal opening of this one-of-a-kind bar.
The two cocktails pay homage to the city itself and the Loews' history within it, including the Bourbon Joe (La Colombe-infused Angel's Envy bourbon, Demerara syrup, and Angostura bitters) and the Peach S.F.S. (Hangar One Vodka, Pennsylvania local Riesling, lemon, and peach liqueur).
“Being America’s first skyscraper and the former home of the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society (PSFS) we are a building rich in history,” says Frederic Najem, Director of Food & Beverage at the hotel. "The Bellhop Bar has its own sense of nostalgia that our guests will love in terms of design, but more importantly, its drinks."
There's certainly no other bar like this in Philadelphia, so stay warm this winter and cozy up to this bar for a cocktail experience completely unique to the City of Brotherly Love.
