Jet Wine Bar Opens an Outdoor Wine Garden Next Door on South Street
South Street's Jet Wine Bar now has its very own wine garden right next door to the main bar, located at 1525 South St. The space opens on July 4, just in time for the holiday weekend.
The crew at Jet has outfitted the previously vacant lot, which offers 2,400 square feet of space, next door to the bar with tents, outdoor games, and a full bar, which also offers food from Chef Lucio Palazzo, now heading up the kitchens at Rex 1516 and Jet.
With 40 seats, including picnic and farmhouse style tables, as well as a handcrafted wooden bar and lots of greenery, it's a perfect spot to sip wine on a sunny summer day.
If you love Jet's extensive, international wine list, you're in luck; since it's just an extension of the wine bar, the outdoor wine bar offers over 40 approachable and delicious varietals by the glass or bottle, so you can go for what you like or try to expand your palette. With a drink menu curated by Jet's general manager Nick Baitzel, you can't go wrong.
They'll also offer cider, beer, and even cocktails, some of which are wine-inspired and some of which are simply seasonal. They even have housemade strawberry rosé wine pops for a sweet adult treat, which go for just $5.
Try their twist on a traditional mule, the Blackberry Moscow Mule, made with local Stateside vodka, blackberry, lime, and Fever Tree ginger beer ($11).
For a surprising yet refreshing sipper perfect for any summer afternoon, order the Spicy Grapefruit Margarita, which is made with Espolon tequila, jalapeño syrup, red grapefruit, and lime ($12).
If you need a snack, no worries; Chef Palazzo has a full menu of bites that pair beautifully with any of their drinks. Try truffle black pepper popcorn ($4), citrus marinated olives ($4), or the pimento cheese served with saltines ($8).
Obviously, one of the best couples of all time is wine and cheese, so of course, Jet's wine garden delivers, with a cheese plate for just $10.
The space is even available for private parties and buyouts when it's not open to the public, so if you're looking to host an outdoor party this summer season, this is the perfect fit. As for regular hours, the wine garden will be open through October, with hours from 4 PM - 10 PM on Thursdays, 5 PM - 11 PM on Fridays, 12 PM - 11 PM on Saturdays, and 12 PM - 9 PM on Sundays, weather permitting.
