Philly's Best Happy Hours: a.kitchen's $25 Bottles of Wine, $8 Spritzes, & $6 Snacks, Seven Days a Week
Welcome to Philly’s Best Happy Hours, a feature highlighting great happy hours in different neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia. Since Drink Philly started out as a place to find happy hours in the city, we thought it was only right to return to our roots and turn the spotlight on some of Philly’s absolute best happy hour deals.
This week, we focused on a.kitchen, the sister restaurant of a.bar which is also located in the heart of Rittenhouse Square. Thanks to an excellent wine program, an amazing roster of bartenders, and a locally inspired menu from restauranteur Ellen Yin (Fork, High Street on Market), a.kitchen has thrived in the Square for years and will certainly remain a fixture of the neighborhood for years to come.
If you think of a.kitchen as a high-end destination, think again –– the dinner menu might be upscale, but their happy hour menu is as approachable as they come, and is home to some pretty exceptional deals. The best part about their happy hour? It takes place from 4 PM - 6 PM every single day, including on weekends.
If you're in the mood for something light, try one of their many $8 spritzes, with varieties like a classic Aperol spritz to the "sbagliato" (Campari, vermouth, prosecco) to the "Rome with a View" (Campari, Dolin dry, lime).
They also offer daily beer selections for $5 and daily wine selections in red, white, and sparkling varietals for $8, but if you're willing to go in on a whole bottle, they have one of the best deals in the city. For just $25, you can get a "bottle of happy" – rosé in the summer and sparkling in the winter.
They also offer their twist on a city wide special for $10, which features a can of sparkling wine and a shot of amaro.
If you're hungry, don't miss out on their snack menu, which includes croquettes of the day, charcuterie of the moment, and a classic High Street soft pretzel, all of which cost just $6.
Next time you're wandering Rittenhouse Square and wondering where you should go for happy hour, don't worry – head to a.kitchen, grab a glass (or a bottle) of wine, and spend your afternoon people-watching through their expansive windows while you enjoy the drink of your choice.
