Thirsty Dice, Fairmount's Board Game-Centric Bar, Has a Special 'Stranger Things' Menu This July
If you've ever wanted to visit the Upside Down but don't want to leave Philadelphia, you're in luck – a local Philly bar is offering specials inspired by Netflix's hit show Stranger Things for the entire month of July.
Thirsty Dice, a board game-focused bar in Fairmount, has created a special menu inspired by Hawkins, Indiana and its supernatural happenings to celebrate the recent release of the popular show's third season.
Stranger Things might be about a group of teens, but grown-up fans can indulge in some of Thirsty Dice's drink specials centered on the show, like the Upside Down for $11 (dark rum, pineapple, coriander, charcoal) or the Waffle Milkshake for $7 (Bassett's vanilla ice cream, maple syrup, and Eggo Waffle), which you can spike with either whiskey, vodka, or rum.
If you're hungry, try food items like Bob's Chicken and Waffle Sandwich for $7 (a chicken sandwich with a spicy maple aioli wrapped in an Eggo), Monster Dog Tots for $8 (tater tots topped with a house-made queso), or the Dessert Nachos for $10 (Eggo waffles with salted caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and M&M’s).
With a heavy focus on Eggos, a favorite of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), you can pretend you're hanging out with Elle, Mike, Will, Dustin, and the whole gang as they prepare to fight the Demagorgon.
Even if you're not into Stranger Things, Thirsty Dice has plenty to offer, with a wall of board games available to play (as well as some for sale), a full food menu, happy hour, and even scheduled game nights for Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the Gathering, and more.
Next time you're in Fairmount with a group of friends, stop into Thirsty Dice for a perfect game night, and if you're there in July, be sure to indulge in the Stranger Things menu while you're there.
