Bloktoberfest is Returning to South Philly For Its 11th Year, September 28
Bloktoberfest, South Philly's favorite festival and block party, is coming back to the neighborhood for its 11th year on Saturday, September 28 from 12 PM - 8 PM.
Founded in 2008 to help secure a new roof for the Shiloh Baptist Church, a South Philly architectural treasure, Bloktoberfest is back and bigger than ever this year, and it's making one big change. Though the festival has always been found on South Street in previous years, for the 2019 festival, it will move to Washington Avenue, spanning South Philly's main artery from Broad Street to 17th.
During the festival, you can try beers from craft companies like Neshaminy Creek, Cigar City, Oskar Blues, Half Acre, Original Sin Cider, and more, as well as food from Burg's Hideaway, Mama's Meatballs, 33rd Street Hospitality, and other vendors.
If you want to plan ahead, you can get your drink tickets in advance of the event; snag 3 for $20, 5 for $30, and even a VIP upgrade for $25 on top of however many tickets you'd like, before fees.
Oktoberfest season is well underway, so don't miss one of the city's signature events this Saturday.
