Victory's New Philadelphia Brewery on the Parkway to Open this Fall

by Drink Philly on Oct 12, 2021 in Beer

Victory Brewing Co. is opening its first Philadelphia taproom and brewery in the heart of Center City at 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Located in the former TGI Friday's on the Parkway, the new Victory taproom and brewery will span an impressive 14,000 feet on the Parkway, featuring a Prospero Brewing System, an in-house kitchen, two indoor bars and one outdoor bar with outdoor seating and a rooftop patio, encompassing 3,500 feet of outdoor space.

The bar will be pouring four originally brewed beers exclusive to the new location, as well as 26 other Victory taps, including beers from sister breweries Southern Tier and Sixpoint Brewing. The location will have a full liquor license so they'll also be offering wine and liquor, including spirits from Southern Tier Brewing Company and Bold Rock Hard Cider.

Per a press release, Victory co-founder Bill Covaleski said, “Victory’s leadership position in craft beer since 1996 affords us a long perspective on the evolution of this movement and encourages us that now is the time to roll up our sleeves and start brewing in Philadelphia."

“We’ve been patiently looking for the perfect downtown Philadelphia location for years. This property, and its iconic address, 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, presents the perfect venue for us to expose both Philly residents and visitors to innovative, quality craft beer, while expanding the audience for the entire craft beer industry,” continued Covaleski.

Victory Brewing Co. has other locations in Parkesburg, Downingtown, and Kennett Square, but this location marks the first real Center City location for this beloved Philadelphia brewery.

“In 2019, we rebranded our entire lineup, launched popular new brands like Twisted Monkey and Cloud Walker, and contemporized our marketing approach,” says Covaleski. “This taproom represents the continued evolution of our brand.  The experience in this taproom will be respectful of Victory’s history but will also represent our next chapter.  We look forward to continuing to be a good community partner with other local craft brands as well as to the customers who sell our beer in the area.  Above all, we will be sharing Victory beer with new guests visiting Philadelphia as well as giving our long-time fans an impactful, memorable experience.”

The new location will feature five private event spaces, indoors and outdoors, ranging from 40 to 150 people capacity. So be sure to book early because they are sure to fill up once opening. Contact Allie Killeen for bookings: Akilleen@victorybeer.com, 445-223-1126.

Victory Brewing Co. on the Parkway is set to open the last week in October, so Victory fans should keep an eye out for the first Philadelphia location of their favorite brewery.
