Where to Celebrate Philly Cider Week 2022, October 23-30

The fourth annual Philadelphia Cider Week is being celebrated from Sunday, October 23 through Sunday, October 30. The week will feature curated events from some of Philly’s best bars and restaurants featuring artisanal ciders from orchards around the world. Here are some events to attend during this exciting week.


Philly Cider Week 2022 Kick-Off
Sunday, October 23, 12-6 PM
Khyber Pass Pub & Royal Boucherie (52 South 2nd Street)

Toast to the official start of PCW 2022 at “Cochon et Cidre” a pork and cider pairing party in Old City. Khyber Pass Pub will be serving up some ciders from PA’s After The Fall, Dressler Estate and Big Hill Cider Works, while Royal Boucherie will serve ciders imported from France, including a Cider cocktail made with pork fat-washed Calvados. New Orleans and French-inspired bites including a whole roasted pig, pork belly cracklins, beignets and more will be featured.
 

Cider School
Monday, October 24, 2-4 PM
Middle Child Clubhouse (1232 N Front St.)

Beverage professionals – this one is for you. Join Cider Historian, Mark Turdo and PCW Founder, Amy Hartranft for this free class on the past, present and future of American Cider and relate it to how it affects buying decisions in the Philadelphia area. Free samples of Ploughman Cider will be poured.
 

Shacksbury & Snax
Monday, October 24, 4-11:55 PM
American Sardine Bar (1800 Federal St.)

Vermont’s Shacksbury Cider will be stopping by this South Philly spot for the evening to pour some bottles and cans of their favorite ciders including this year’s releases of Deer Snacks, Shacksbury Bon Voyage & Wes. Chef Beau Neidhardt will also be whipping up some snacks (or snax) to make perfect pairings.
 

Cave à Manger
Wednesday, October 26, 5-8 PM
The Good King Tavern (614 S 7th St.)

Sample traditional ciders from the North Atlantic French coast while enjoying cheeses from Normandy and oysters from Brigantine Oyster Co at this cozy Queen Village bistro.
 

Cheese & Cider w/ Di Bruno Brothers
Thursday, October 27, 4-9 PM
Original 13 Ciderworks (1526 N American St.)

Join the cheesemongers of Di Bruno Bros at Philly’s oldest cidery for an evening of perfectly paired cheese and 4-5 ounce pours of cider, including Original 13’s 5-Year Anniversary Sparkling Apple Wine.
 

A Night of Cider Cocktails
Friday, October 28, 5-11 PM
Hale & True (613 S 7th St.)

You may love cider, but have you ever had it mixed in a cocktail? Now is your chance for one night only at Hale & True, Taproom Manager Claire Trindle will be shaking up a range of cocktails with featuring cider as the main ingredient.
 

Ploughman x The Cider Jawns Monarch Release Party
Saturday, October 29, 6-10 PM
The Lunar Inn (3124 Richmond St.)

Two local cideries, Ploughman Cider and The Cider Jawns have teamed up for a special collaboration fermentation, Monarch. Come be one of the first to try the zesty plum and ginger-infused cider at this Port Richman bar and bottle shop.
 

Carnival of Thirsty Souls
Sunday, October 30, 12-6 PM
Queen Village (7th Street between South and Bainbridge)

Wrap up the fourth annual Philly Cider Week at an outdoor street festival featuring over 11 different cideries, food from Papermill Foods food truck, a costume contest, raffles, tarot card readings, live music from local bands, and more.
