The 12th Annual Philly Bierfest Celebrates the Rich History of Brewing German-Style Beers in Pennsylvania, February 22

The German Society of Philadelphia’s 12 Annual Bierfest returns this Saturday, February 22 from 2 PM - 5:30 PM with a selection of over 50 German-style beers from Pennsylvania craft brewers as well as a variety of German imports. 

Recognized by USA Today’s Reader’s Choice as one of the Top 10 Beer Festivals, this beloved event is in partnership with Philly Roller Derby and the Brewers of Philadelphia. Live entertainment will include Roller Derby arm wrestling, Berlin-style beerlesque, Philbilly music by TC Cole Riot, jello wresting, a “Best Legs in Lederhosen” contest, axe throwing, and more.

Don’t forget to enjoy some delicious aged and fermented pairings from the PA Cheese Guild’s Cheese Cave and Cider bar and Bavarian “bierstacheln” (caramelized doppelbock beer) at the fire pit. VIP ticket holders will also have access to the new Bitburger BRÜ Balcony and VIP Lounge featuring German brews and bites on the mezzanine.

This year’s German imports range from classic pilsners to more unique offers and include beers from Ayinger, Benediktiner, Bitburger, Erdinger, HofBräu, König Ludwig, Köstritzer, Krombacher, Paulaner, Radeberger, Schneider & Stiegl, Schöfferhofer, Tucher, Warsteiner and more, plus the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world, the Bavarian State Brewery at Weihenstephan.

Tickets are available now and begin at $59 for general admission. VIP tickets are ($79 for 1 PM VIP hour and keepsake mug) or $99 for the VIP Plus ticket (additional guided tasting at noon lead by Marnie Old, cofounder of Bierfest). Designated Drivers can contact the German Society to purchase $35 “Beerless” tickets.
