Bars Open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Ready for something that you can be genuinely excited about, instead of faking enthusiasm at the hand knit sweater your Grandmother just gave to you? (just kidding, Grandma, we’ll totally wear those sweaters after Christmas.)
As many people age, Christmas loses some it’s allure and wonder, but we’re adults now and luckily we can go get a drink. A few brave souls, truly in the spirit of giving, man their stations behind bars city wide, ready to relieve thirsty patrons of their holiday woes.
If you find yourself needing an escape or just have nothing better to do, here are a bunch of places that will be open for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Old Philly Ale House: Looking for somewhere to pick up delicious beer? One of the best is open until ten.
Pub on Passyunk East: Christmas Eve: Regular Hours. Christmas Day: open 6pm-2am
Sugar Mom's: Christmas Eve: regular hours. Christmas day: open at 8pm

12 Steps Down: $2 Yuengling Lager drafts + days 1-10. Regular hours on Christmas Eve, 11am-2am.
Apollinare Restaurant: Christmas Eve, traditional Italian, Seven Fish Dinner. Call to reserve tables. Two seating’s available at 5pm and 8pm.
Bridget Foys: Christmas Eve open for lunch and dinner. Kitchen closes around 8-9.
Cantina Dos Segundos: Open Christmas Eve. Closes early.
Devil’s Den: 11am-2am
Doobie’s: Open from 4pm to whenever (as long as people come, they will be open) Food available.
Downey’s Restaurant: 11am-2am
Johnny Brenda’s: 11am-8pm. Special seasonal drinks (eggnog, mulled ciders) and cookies.
Kildare’s: Christmas Eve open until 7pm
Kokopelli and Tequila Bar: December 24th grand opening Christmas eve party. General admission $20 and includes an open vodka bar from 8-10pm. Party goes until 2am and there are also VIP bottle services available. Tickets are available http://12thtolifeparty-ype.
Lucky Strikes Lanes: Christmas eve open 11:30 am until 5pm.
McGillin’s Old Ale House: Open Christmas Eve until 5pm.
National Mechanics: 5pm-2am
Rembrandt’s Restaurant and Bar: Christmas Eve from 3-5pm. Holiday happy hour. Food and drink specials, with Christmas movies.
Sidecar Bar and Grill: 3-11pm
South Philly Tap Room: 11am-?? (probably early evening)
Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar: Holiday party. $20 cover with open bar and buffet from 9-11pm.
Triumph Brewing Co.: Xmas Eve Jam. 9pm-12am. All star jam session featuring members of the Disco Biscuits and Brothers Past.
Varga Bar: Christmas eve open at 11:30am and tapping rare Christmas beers (including Great Lakes Christmas). No refills on growlers, but will be selling new growlers of some of the stuff.

Bourbon Blue: December 25th, 8-11pm. Open Bar Christmas party. Just say Green Legion at the door. Open bar is from 8-9pm and includes domestic beers, well drinks, and house wines. Rest of the night $1 Miller Lites and $3 Christmas shots.
