Taste 200 Spirits at the Philadelphia Whiskey Festival, Nov 15
Calling all whiskey lovers, bourbon fiends, scotch adorers and fans of all great spirits! The eighth annual Philadelphia Whiskey Festival on Tuesday, November 15 is your chance to taste over 200 different liquors, from single malts to Irish whiskey to tequila to gin and more.
The Philly Mag-hosted event will take place at the Crystal Tea Room (100 E. Penn Sq.), where over 75 vendors will set up tables and offer spirit samples. To make sure your head stays clear as you taste your way through the tipples, plenty of “heavy” hors d’oevres and desserts will be passed around, and there are several activities to keep you focused.
You’ll have a chance to meet Fred Noe (Jim Beam’s great grandson), National Woodford Reserve will present a Manhattan competition, and – on the other end of the spirit spectrum – Smirnoff will set up a “Whipped and Fluffed Lounge.” Bottles of booze will be for sale on site, thanks to a pop-up PA Wine and Spirits store.
Tickets are $85 in advance or $95 at the door (designated driver tix go for $50), and proceeds – including those raised through the evening’s raffle – will benefit non-profit SafeHome Philadelphia.
