After you’ve done the family thing for Thanksgiving, escape to your real love – craft beer. Winter Beerfest will feature more than 100 brews from around the region and the world, and your entrance fee gains you access to unlimited tastings of all.  You can choose the afternoon (1–5 PM) or evening (6–10 PM) session for your four hours of sampling fun.

New for 2011 is the location of the fest: Union Transfer is a brand new entertainment venue, located in the former Spaghetti Warehouse at 11th and Spring Garden. The space is much larger than the festival’s previous home (the Electric Factory), and only 1000 tickets will be sold, so expect minimal lines and plenty of room to enjoy the event.

Some of the newcomers to look for include Firestone Walker, Wild Onion, White Birch and more. In addition to the sudsy sips, there will be food for sale, as well as t-shirts, mugs, pint glasses and jewelry. The ticket price of $33 per person pays homage to Prohibition’s repeal in 1933, and are available online or at the Union Transfer box office.
