Celebrate Belgian Beer Experts at Tria, Nov 15
Husband and wife Don Feinberg and Wendy Littlefield are largely responsible for introducing Belgian beer to the U.S. market. Their company, Vanberg & Dewulf, began importing Duvel and La Chouffe as early as 1982, and the pair also founded Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY. On Tuesday, November 15, Tria Wash West will join craft beer bars across the country in a “Coast to Coast Toast” to this erstwhile couple.
From 4 PM–close, a selection of Belgian style brews will be offered in 6-oz. tasting portions, including Duvel (the standard, 8.5% ABV); Dupont Monk’s Stout (the PA debut of this 5.2% ABV stout); Ommegang Adoration (a spiced holiday ale, 10% ABV); Dupont La Bière de Belœil (another PA debut, a darker-than-usual 8.5% beer); and Scaldis Prestige de Nuit (aged for 6–9 months in Burgundy barrels, 13% ABV).
For added fun, and a chance to win prizes, beer writer Lew Bryson will be hosting a special quiz on the beers and breweries of Vanberg & Dewulf. Participate from 6–9 PM and use your brew knowledge to win autographed copy of The Great Beers of Belgium, Bryson’s Beers of Pennsylvania, special glassware and more.
