Bars to Watch the Eagles Last Game on New Year's Day

Even though our beloved Eagles will not be in the playoffs, there will be one final game to cheer them on (or hope they can secure a better draft pick). In case you don’t want to brave the cold and take your New Year’s Eve-induced hangover to the Linc, we cross-referenced our list of gameday specials and our rundown of bars open on New Year’s Day. Check out these bars where you can catch up on both hair of the dog and pigskin. (All open regular hours unless noted.)

Center City

Cav’s Rittenhouse: The most sports-centric bar in the Rittenhouse 'hood has you covered, with $3.50 Miller Lite or Yuengling drafts during the game.

Field House: Located in the PA Convention Center, just across from Reading Terminal Market, this upscale sports bar has game deals that roll with the best. Tailgate in comfort with the “cooler” specials: your server will bring an actual cooler full of ice and the beers of your choice to your table. Get a cooler full of 6 bottles at $25 for domestics, $30 for imports or $36 for craft brews. You can also double or triple your order to get a 12- or 24-bottle tableside delivery. The  Sunday game snacking menu features a $11 breakfast pizza (with bacon, egg and sausage) and a pound of wings (with fries) for $10.

Fox and Hound: This Spruce Street sports bar doesn't hold back when it comes to football specials. During the game, score a mighty 23-oz. pour of Hoegaarden for $5, or Miller Lite or Coors Light for $3.75. Pony up $21.60 and you’ll get a bucket of five 16-oz. bottles of Miller Lite.

Irish Pub (20th St. and 12th St.):  Both the Rittenhouse and Wash West locations of this traditional Gaelic tavern get in the pigskin swing with all-day Sunday specials of premium drafts for $4 or Bud Light pints for $2.50. During the game, it’s just $5 for a pound of hot wings.

Ladder 15: If you want to enjoy some high-end snacking while the fun plays out on screen, head to this Sansom Street firehouse-turned-gastropub (open at noon on New Year’s Day). Football brings $3 craft pours, $6 Stoli Bloody Marys and $12 buckets of Bud Light.

McGillins: Watch the Eagles fly on this Midtown Village pub’s eight high-definition and two projection TVs. Buy a 2011 McGillin’s souvenir mug for $5 & get Bud Light refills for $1. Or, if you prefer, toast the team with the tavern’s famous Iggletini: vanilla vodka, Creme de Cacao and Green Creme de Menthe, just $5 at gametime.

Old City

Mac's Tavern: Partly owned by Rob McElhenney (“Mac” from Always Sunny in Philadelphia), game deals here include $3 Yuenglings.

Triumph Brewery: If you’re searching for football bargains but want to hold out for craft beer instead of the big-beer discounts, head to this brewpub and find several of their creative house drafts at just $3.

South Street

O’Neals Pub: With over 30 years of sports bar experience under their belts, the folks here know all about football specials. From 11 AM–6:30 PM, Bloody Marys and mimosas are $3.50, and pines of Miller Lite are $3. From 6:30 PM–close, the deal switches to $3.50 pours of Stella Artois, Guinness or Heineken (or cans of Heineken Light), paired with 50-cent wings.

Percy Street Barbecue: This soulful Texas ‘cue stop celebrates with $2 Victory pints all day. Prefer your football at home? Get 10% off all takeoff orders.

Paddy Whacks: Armed with an array of HDTVs, this Irish sports bar offers $2.50 bottles of Bud, Bud Ultra and Bud Light Lime.

South Philly

Chickie and Pete’s: Satisfy your craving for crab fries at this enthusiastic sports bar, and score $2 Bud or Bud Light drafts all day.

Devil's Den: This alehouse offers $1 off Spaten Lager and Franziskaner Hefeweisse 22oz “biggies” during the game.

Art Museum/Fairmount

London Grill: The friendly neighborhood fave offers $3 domestic bottles during all games, plus $5 PBR tallboy + shot of Powers, for those ready to go the distance. (Open at 1 PM.)

West Philly

City Tap House: If you’re a beer fan, you can’t go wrong at this 60-tap pub in West Philly, and during Sunday games, all Yards offerings are just $3 per pour at the bar.

Drinker’s West: With a huge projection screen, this is a great spot to watch with friends. During the game you can share $6 Bud Light pitchers.

Landmark Americana: This snazzy pub sports $2 Yuenglings all day,, along with 50-cent wings.

Manayunk

The Bayou: Enjoy $1.50 domestic drafts, $2 Miller Lite bottles and $4 pizzas all day long.
