Angel's Envy Happy Hour at Lemon Hill, Jan 30
If you’ve ever had the opportunity to try one of barman Al Sotack’s cocktails, you know his deft touch makes a drink that rivals the nectar of the gods. On Monday, January 30, you can make divine beings jealous of your libations with a special happy hour featuring Angel’s Envy artisanal bourbon.
We actually ran into Angel’s Envy at November’s Philadelphia Whiskey Festival. The spirit – which distiller Lincoln Henderson refers to as his masterwork – is made using Kentucky corn and rye and then aged 5-6 years in white oak barrels. After that, there is a second 3-6 month aging in port casks, which smooths any rough notes and provides a strong but nuanced sip.
From 5–7 PM, Al will be behind the stick at Lemon Hill, stirring up Angel’s Envy Old Fashioned for $8 each. Along with the discounted lowballs, there will be complimentary tastes of the bourbon, snacks (hope for one of the delicious flatbreads or spiced pecans with bacon), as well as free Angel’s Envy gear. Sip on that, St. Peter!
