What happens when you cross a beer geek with a tech geek? If you’re Manhattan, KS-based Tallgrass Brewing Co., you come up with 8-Bit Ale, the newest in this microbrewery’s series of craft canned beers.

An ode to classic video games, the American pale ale is just like those games we grew up playing, because it’s “spectacularly simple at first glance yet remarkably fun and complex when you get into it.”

Australian Galaxy hops meet U.S.-grown Cascade hops (among others) to create a 5.2% ABV beer with a slight melon-like, tropical twist. Currently, the company’s distribution is limited to Mississippi, Minnesota and a few other spots across the Midwest.

What all of us can enjoy, however, is this piece depicting a video game made entirely of puppets. It’s craft meets geek at its finest. Give it a watch, below.
