Dale DeGroff at The Farmers' Cabinet, April 22
U.S. history is a story of drinking. At least, that’s one way to tell the tale, and no one does it better than Dale DeGroff. The James Beard award-winning mixologist and author is bringing his traveling tribute to the history of American drinkeries to The Farmers Cabinet on Walnut Street on Sunday, April 22.
DeGroff's qualifications to tell these stories are many, including authoring The Essential Cocktail: The Art of Mixing Perfect Drinks and The Craft of the Cocktail: Everything You Need to Know to Be a Master Bartender, as well as founding the Museum of the American Cocktail in New Orleans.
Dale is a true legend, and his accounts of drinking culture bring bygone eras to life.“On the Town” begins at 6 PM, as the cocktail historian spins the story of bar life in the U.S. from colonial times to the present, accompanied by Joel Perry on guitar. The $45 entrance fee ($50 at the door) includes the show, three drinks and light hors d’oeuvres.
