I entered the appropriately name Rum Bar, and instantly meshed with the people and atmosphere. My friends and I got what I believed to be the best seat in the house. Tonight we would share a comfortable, elegantly lit, padded half circle booth, and it felt right, this is truly what a lounge should be. A place to surrender your aches and worries (they even have a drink called the painkiller) and pick up one of the 140 types of rum drinks, compliments of the Rum Bar. I marveled at an impressively designed menu getting ready to plunge into my first drink. Tonight this booth would be my ship and the menu my compass. I relied on them greatly for they were responsible for the great experience the Rum Bar promised.

I could not believe how many drinks were up for grabs. White rums, gold rums, flavored rums, Anejo rums, over-proof rums. You name it these people have put rum in it. They also carry a large selection of festive Mohitos, providing a refreshing visual masterpiece. Fresh Strawberry Mohito made with Bacardi Superior, strawberries, lime and mint was a personal favorite at my table. If Mohitos are your thing then Mondays 2 for 1 Mohitos is your scene. The rest of the week is no drag-fest either. On Tuesdays don’t pass up the mouthwatering mini burgers and chicken strips for just $2. Save the Daiquiri Wednesdays are extremely popular at the Rum Bar. ½ priced daiquiris 4-2am, 9:30 live reggae and $1 Jerk wings is truly a tropical paradise.

The weekly happy hour runs from 5-7pm serving ½ priced drafts and $3 well drinks. Great things at great prices guaranteed at the tranquil, intimate, getaway located on 20th & Walnut.
