Age of Augustus Toga Party & Fundraiser, May 5
When you think toga party, craft beer probably isn’t the first type of beverage that crosses your mind, but after this weekend, you’ll be able to see the ancient Roman-turned-frat boy outfit in a new light. A fundraiser for the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, the Age of Augustus party will bring Philly’s finest out to the banks of the Schuylkill, where Boathouse Row will be the picturesque setting for a toga bash to remember.
From 7–11 PM on Saturday, May 5, DJs will spin, live bands will play, and good food and drink will flow. West Chester’s Boxcar Brewing will provide Original Ale and Cherry Porter along with Magners Summer Paradise and Krook’s Mill Pale Ale, as well as Cream Ale and Bock Lager from Narragansett. Primo Hoagies will bring everyone’s favorite sandwich trays to pair with the sips. There will also be assorted hors d’oeuvres, wine and cocktails throughout the night.
Tickets are $55 per person and are available online (21+ only). The event takes place at 2 Boathouse Row, which is the home of the Fairmount Rowing Association. All proceeds will go to help the children of fallen Marines with college scholarships. That’s a reason to bare your shoulders for.
