Firkin Friday Happy Hour at Rittenhouse Tavern
A rare Dogfish Head firkin in a patio garden off Rittenhouse Square? Yes, please. Rittenhouse Tavern is the newest addition to the posh hood, and while the friendly dining room and lounge may not have any actual taps, that’s not keeping them from getting in on the Philly beer scene.
June 15 is the first of the weekly Firkin Friday Happy Hours manager Daniel Elliott has put together, and at 4 PM, he’ll tap Johnny Cask - Sam Calgione’s highly sought after 75-minute IPA - in the flower-filled patio behind the Philadelphia Art Alliance. Glasses will go for $5 each, and a charcuterie plate chef Nicholas Elmi designed to complement the beer will be available for $6.
Happy hour at the neighborhood tavern runs every weekday from 4–6 PM, and also features a selection of craft bottles for $3–$4, $5 cocktails and an assortment of high-end bar bites like pickled baby vegetables and crispy frogs legs, $7–$11.
Added bonus: all patrons of Rittenhouse Tavern are granted free access to the Art Alliance exhibits, and currently on display is Adam Wallacavage’s Shiny Monsters — this is one lighting display worth the trip.
