Beer Cakes Philly at Cav's Rittenhouse for Magic Hat Happy Hour, July 12
Back in December, we told you about the awesome Beer Cakes Philly, and while you can always find them at the Cookie Confidential store on Fifth and Lombard, Thursday’s happy hour at Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse is the perfect opportunity to sample the beer-infused treats paired with actual beer.
From 5–7 PM on July 12, baker Lexi Malmros will be at the craft beer/sports bar (yes, that is a thing) giving out samples of her newest creations, which feature beers from Vermont’s Magic Hat Brewing Co. To pair with the sweets, all Magic Hat brews on tap will go for $3 a pour.
We had the opportunity to sample our first “beer cake” this past weekend (a bacon-and-apple cake with Victory Otto icing), and can say with conviction that this is one decadent evening you don’t want to miss. Beer and buttercream? Yes, please.
