Summer Celebrity Bartending Series at R2L
Want to get tipsy with your favorite local celeb? R2L has been hosting a celebrity bartending series throughout the summer, which saw several of Philly’s well-known personalities take up behind the stick for charity. Each event takes place from 6–8 PM at the swanky bar on the 37th floor of Daniel Stern’s Liberty Two restaurant, with panoramic views of the Philadelphia sunset as the backdrop. For every drink sold during the special happy hour, $1 will be donated to the celebrity’s charity of choice.
Previous guest 'tenders have included outspoken sports radio personality Howard Eskin and internationally recognized rotisseur Tom Knox. On Wednesday, August 8, be on your best behaviour as Distrtict Attorney Seth Williams takes over the bar. In honor of the occasion, Stern concocted a special "DA Burger," which might be worth the trip alone: a LaFrieda beef patty is topped with grilled bacon and salami, Gruyère, collard slaw, tomato, caramelized onions, special sauce and french fries. The behemoth goes for $22, of which $5 goes to the charity of the evening, the Pet Support Phashion Charity Affair.
Does local celebrity equal good drinks? With plenty of help from the talented R2L staff, we’re sure they’ll be able to make it work, but there’s only one way to find out.
