Percy Street BBQ Celebrates National Root Beer Float Day, Aug 6
If you’ve ever tried the frosty, bubbly, effervescently sweet creation that is a root beer float at Percy Street BBQ, you know why the drink deserves a day of its own. August 6 is National Root Beer Float Day, and to celebrate, the South Street Cook + Solo/O’Shea restaurant is offering a trio of floatastic specials.
Starting at 5 PM, stop into the smoky ‘cue joint to pick up a nonalcoholic float for $3 — the signature drink uses a custom Yards root beer, poured from the tap, and housemade vanilla ice cream. But it gets better: $6 will bring a boozy version, spiked with a shot of Old Overholt Rye. For something even more out of the ordinary, try the Oskar Blues Ten Fidy float for $10.50.
These dessert sips are so satisfying, you might end up slurping up more than one, but that’s okay. Ice cream is one of the essential food groups, right?
