Bierstube Oktoberfest: Pig, Peppers and Pils, September 21
As part of the ongoing Oktoberfest celebration, on Friday, September 21, Bierstube will host Pig, Peppers and Pils. The all-day event at the Old City tavern will match up pork, peppers and pilsners for the ultimate in spicy, porky, beery goodness.
Pork will be served four different, pepper-spiked ways. Go all out with a platter of cayenne-spiced pork chops for $17, or choose from three smaller dishes at $8 each: a pulled pork Sriracha sandwich with red cabbage slaw; smoked bratwurst with jalapeno cheese; and chipotle-rubbed pork ribs. You can also opt for the "ménage á trois," which brings all three of those bites for a total of $20.
Beer boots will be available to enjoy the four pilsners on draft, which are Manayunk Brewery Bill's Pils, Friesisches Jever Pilsner, Great Lakes The Wright Pils and the world's first pilsner, Plzensky Prazdroj Pilsner Urquell. Another nine pilsners - both local and European (and one from New Zealand) - will be available in bottles and cans. All beers are priced between $5-$7.
