Yuengling Giving Away Free Lagers for National Drink Beer Day, Sept. 28
Not that we’re discriminating against the other 364 days of the year, but it looks like the powers that be have declared September 28 National Drink Beer Day. To celebrate the occasion and also the fact that it is now the largest American-owned brewery (tied with Boston Beer Co.), Pottsville, PA-based Yuengling is giving away one free beer to all Philadelphians of legal drinking age.
Fifth generation president and owner Dick Yuengling will personally lead a toast from the Chickie’s & Pete’s on Packer Avenue, broadcast live at 6:30 PM on Comcast SportsNet. You can head to South Philly to catch him live, or you can go to one of 250 bars to score your own free bottle of lager and join in the fun.
The free beers will be distributed, one per person, as long as supplies last, and Yuengling is sending out over 10,000 of them, so your chances of getting a gratis brew are pretty good. Check the bar finder on Yuengling's website to make sure you're headed to a participating venue.
