For the seventh year running, the weeklong celebration known as DesignPhiladelphia will spread design-minded education, art and cheer throughout the city. Over 100 events will take place between October 10–14, and we’re excited to be hosting one at our Old City gallery/world headquarters.

Indie publisher Quirk Books will present a show of alternative book covers, showing both actual designs that didn’t make the cut (too awesome for public consumption, perhaps?) plus several totally new works inspired by older titles.

From 5–9 PM, come to the second floor at 239 Chestnut to check out the art and chat with the team behind the books, including friend of Drink Philly and Quirk Books marketing coordinator Eric Smith. There will be giveaways throughout the evening, plus free beer from Spaten and Franziskaner and some nibbles to go along.
