Perch Pub Hosts Stillwater's Brian Strumke and Sixpoint's Jersey Dan, Nov. 18
Representatives from two very special breweries will be spending the afternoon at Perch Pub on Sunday, November 18. Brian Strumke is the head brewer of Stillwater Artisanal Ales, a “gypsy” operation renowned for its unique creations made at brewing facilities all around the world. For the first time this year, Stillwater has somewhat of a home base, a Baltimore pub called Of Love and Regret.
Joining Strumke will be “Jersey” Dan Bisogno, regional brand manager for Sixpoint Brewery. Sixpoint is located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and was hit pretty bad by Sandy, but did just get power turned on and is determined to bounce back strong.
From 5–8 PM, visit the Broad and Locust pub to meet both these brewing luminaries, and taste some of the special beers they brought along. Strumke will be featuring Stillwater’s Stateside Saison, Existent and Why Can’t IBU, and Jersey Dan will feature Sixpoint’s Otis Oatmeal Stout, The Crisp Pilsner and Spice of Life: Wakatu. Each of the three will be available in a tasting flight for $6, in addition to regular draft pours.
The two are in town to attend a Conor Oberst concert at the Kimmel Center, which starts at 8 PM, so if you’re into indie folk rock, check out the show at Verizon Hall, and then head back to Perch (just across the street) for some after-music brews.
