National Constitution Center and Batch 19 Repeal Day Party, December 5
December 5 is Repeal Day, a day for nationwide celebrating. That’s the date the 21st Amendment was ratified in 1933, thereby repealing the 18th Amendment and ending Prohibition. In conjuction with its current exhibit, “American Sprits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition,” the National Consitution Center is teaming with Batch 19 beer to throw an all-night party at Xfinity Live.
Starting at 7 PM, the South Philadelphia entertainment complex will host the Grayscalers, real models and performers who are painted in shades of gray from head to toe so they look like they’ve just stepped out of a black and white photo. You can get your photo taken with these folks, a spot of color in an otherwise gray world.
Get even more colorful with Batch 19, a pre-Prohibition-style lager produced by Coors — it will be on special for $3 all evening. Batch 19 reps will be on hand giving away lots of brand merchandise. Plus, Maker's Mark drinks will be on sale for $4 and The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn will be playing live jazz music at Victory Beer Hall. The event is free to attend, and pay as you go all night with no cover charge.
