Bierstube Introduces New Winter Cocktails and New Happy Hour
When it gets dark before 5 PM and the chill starts to creep inside your jacket after just a few moments outdoors, there’s only one thing to do (in our world, anyway): relax with a great drink. Old City’s Bierstube has just introduced a new cocktail menu with four surefire winter warmers, as well as a new beer-friendly happy hour.
Weekdays from 4:44–6:44 PM you can stop in to enjoy German Four Play, which brings four German or German-style brews in 14-oz. pours for just $4 each. The beers on special rotate, but considering the bar’s beer cred — it’s run by Michael Naessens of Eulogy Belgian Tavern — you can be sure the options will be quality.
If you’re in the mood for spirits instead, try one of the new cold weather drinks, which run $7 each, any time of day. Apple Pie in a Jar is a serious winner if you like cinnamon, apples or pie; it sees apple cider mixed with apple schnapps, fresh apples, spices and alcohol for a potent punch.
Stuttgart Sangria pays homage to the home city of smooth-riding Mercedes-Benz and Porsche with a smooth combo of slow-blended German Riesling and white cranberry juice, strawberries, Mandarin oranges, peaches, vanilla and peach schnapps.
The Old Fashioned Fahrvergnugen is the classic jazzed up with black walnut bitters, and the Hasselhoff “Sex am Strand” Martini takes Sex on the Beach to a whole new Teutonic level. If that doesn’t warm you up, what will?
