When is a sour face a good thing? When it comes from sipping on funky sour beers! On Thursday, January 17, brand new Bella Vista restaurant Bainbridge Street Barrel House will turn over its entire tap list — 29 different drafts — to sour and wild beers. Accompanying the drafts will be a dozen or so special sours in bottles.

Look for local gems like Round Guys Wild Rider Barrel Aged Sour Tripel and Bullfrog Brewery The Blue Condition Blueberry Sour, crafts from around the U.S. like Funky Budda Passionfruit Berlinerweiss from Florida and Local Option Schmetterling Gose from Chicago, and sours from across the ocean like Gueuzerie Tilquin Oude Gueuze.

Everything will be offered in pay-as-you-go format from 7 PM on, and the event will continue until the kegs are tapped. Pours will range from and 8-oz. goblet to a 12-oz. snifter to a 16-oz. pint, depending on the cost and ABV of the beer.

If you haven’t yet been to the Barrel House, there’s a huge bar (and it just got a bit roomier to sit there, thanks to a quick reconfiguring of the dining room). Adam Kanter (formerly of Rum Bar) has stepped in as general manager, and chef Eric Paraskevas’ food will be available to order if you want to stay for dinner, and if you like sours, you should probably plan on it.
