Drink Philly First Friday: Ice Cream Social With Victory and Rolling Barrel, June 7
It’s a Philly Beer Week First Friday at Drink Philly! On Friday, June 7, come to our Old City headquarters for an art show and ice cream social from 5–9 PM. Event experts Rolling Barrel are hosting, so expect a well-handled event, with plenty of ice cream for all.
Of course, there will also be beer. Victory Brewing Company is bringing some local brew. Look forward to trying the brand new Liberty Bell Ringer. This double IPA was created to celebrate Philly Beer Week 2013, and it's a winner. German malts and Mosaic and experimental hops combine for a refreshing brew that's not overly fruity or sweet, but also now overhelmingly bitter. It's 9% ABV, but you'd never know. Summer Love Ale will also be pouring, for a lighter sip at 5.2% ABV.
Victory is also bringing housemade ice cream made with beer — you'll be able to sample refreshing Lemon Szechwan and creamy Golden Monkey. Mompop’s ice cream will also be on hand, so all the sweets will be just as local as the drinks.
