Valentine's Day Wine Events

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and for us wine lovers; it’s simply another excuse to fill our glasses. And appreciate the loves in our life, of course. A good bottle, two glasses and a comfy couch will usually do, but if you want to step out this year, the city is teaming with special wine events to enjoy. Pick one, and enjoy. Pick two or more, and please hail a cab.

 

What: The Brandywine’s best wines and chocolates in a sit-down tasting.

Where: Chaddsford Winery, 632 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA

When: Weekends in February, 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Pricetag: $25 per person

 

What: Wine and cheese tasting, with a side order of house-made chocolates.

Where: Le Bec-Fin, 1523 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA

When: February 9, 6 p.m.

Pricetag: $35 per person

 

What: The Champagne & Dessert Wine Gala, a sampling of some of the best champagnes and sweet dessert wines.

Where: The Wine School of Philadelphia, 2006 Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia, PA

When: February 11, 7:30 p.m.

Pricetag: $61.99 per person

 

What: Love, Wine & Chocolate event showcasing, you guessed it, wine and chocolate pairings.

Where: Pinot Boutique, 227 Market St., Philadelphia, PA

When: February 12, 7 p.m.

Pricetag: $49 per person

 

What: A tasting of the vineyard’s lauded dessert wine and chocolate truffles.

Where: Paradocx Winery, 1833 Flint Hill Road, Landenberg, PA

When: February 12 & 13, noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Pricetag: $20 in advance, $25 at the door

 

What: The Rediscover Romance wine tasting event, spread out among a stunning Beaux Arts mansion.

Where: Cairwood, 1005 Cathedral Road, Bryn Athyn, PA

When: Feburary 14, 8 p.m.

Pricetag: $25 per person

 

What: Four-course wine dinner paired with Dreadnought Wines from Eberle Winery.

Where: Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, 111 S. 17th St., Philadelphia, PA

When: February 16, 6:30 p.m.

Pricetag: $99 per person

 

Bonus: A number of restaurants, including Bar Ferdinand, Chick’s Cafe & Wine Bar, Adsum, Fork, Dettera and Water Works restaurant & Lounge will be offering special wine pairing options with their prix fix menus.
