Moriarty's

Moriarty's

Moriarty’s has a pretty sweet happy hour.

Happy Hour is from 5 – 7 PM during the week, and features $3 20 oz. drafts. A bunch of coworkers and I decided to try it out, and we were pretty impressed by the hefty selection of beers to choose from. There are two floors, but the top floor was closed off. We were seated at two large tables in the back, and they were very accommodating. Aside from the tables in the back, there are tables in the front. There is also a long bar which seats over 20 people. The place got pretty crowded during the happy hour and every seat at the bar was filled. There are a bunch of TV’s at the bar, so it’s a great place to go to watch a game. Four leaf clovers, framed Forrest Theatre Playbills, and artwork comprised of bottle caps, broken bottles, and nickels and pennies covered the walls. Dim lighting and oak and brass tables and walls made the atmosphere very inviting.

We of course ordered wings after hearing that they had previously been voted the Best of Philly. I would have to agree. They were excellent – large, spicy, and ridiculously filling. Not to mention they were only $10! The beer and wings alone made me quite happy. The wings were so good that I licked my fingers afterwards and had no shame about it. I also ordered French onion soup and cheese fries. The French onion soup was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. It was flavorful and not watered down which is what typically happens with French Onion Soup. And the cheese fries were awesome. Cheese fries are the key to my heart, and I ate every last one.

All in all, I'd call the evening a success. I think I may stick to a beer and wings diet from now on. Seriously.
