South Philly Goes to the Movies For Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
So it looks like Philadelphia’s going to get screwed on Great Odin’s Raven Special Reserve, the real life blended Scotch whisky inspired by the fictional character Ron Burgundy from the motion picture Anchorman, and its forthcoming sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. As a consolation though, the city’s getting a preview of the highly anticipated comedy, and naturally it comes with its own bar crawl.
Riviera Imports, the company responsible for bottling the Burgundy-branded Scotchy Scotch Scotch, only plans to distribute the spirit in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Georgia. So if you want a bottle, you’ll have to take a road trip.
Here, closer to home, a handful of the city’s bars are teaming up with Shawnee, Allagash Brewing Company, and Brooklyn Brewing Co for South Philly Goes to the Movies on Thursday, December 19. The $20 ticket gets you a beer at the P.O.P.E., a beer at The Industry, a ticket for the midnight screening, and surely a million laughs. There’s going to be some raffles and prizes too.
Get tickets now at the Foodery, The Industry, Good Dog, and the P.O.P.E.
