Roll Out the Barrels: Dilworth Park Celebrates OctoberFest
Just when it seems like all our Oktoberfest-ing opportunities have been exhausted, City Hall’s brand-spanking-new Dilworth Park comes through with yet another autumnal celebration, OctoberFest.
It kicks off on Saturday, October 18 with music, food and fun. At the center of it all will be a beer garden hosted by celeb chef Jose Garces’ on-site cafe, Rosa Blanca. It returns on Thursday, October 23, and again on Saturday, October 25.
Along with beers and food, the fest will serve up live music, DJs and a host of family-friendly activities. There will also be a variety of vendors and interactive art installations. The Franklin Institute will be on hand with Live Science Demonstrations, and Zipcar will host face painting and balloons. Plus, there will be oversized board games.
On October 18, featured entertainment will include Making Time’s Dave Pianka at 1 PM; Drgn King at 3 PM; Norwegian Arms at 4 PM; and Philadelphia School of Circus Arts at 5 PM. Other activities schedule include Mural Arts sponsored pumpkin painting, and printmaking on mural cloth with make-your-own mini-murals.
Thursday, October 23, will feature DJ Reed Streets.
Saturday, October 25, has DJ Statik and Matthew Law of the Illvibe Collective and Son Little lined up.
Admission is free, and all food and drinks are available on a pay-as-you-go basis.
