Think Spring at the PHS Pop-Up Beer Garden, Opening Feb. 14
Sorry, Punxsutawney Phil, but the real sign of spring in Philly is the Philadelphia Flower Show. The show runs from February 28–March 8, but you can catch a sneak peek when the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society hosts an indoor, pop-up beer garden at The Shops at Liberty Place.
The garden opens February 14, and runs Tuesdays through Saturdays through the end of the Flower Show, March 8. The theme of this year’s Flower Show is Celebrate the Movies, which is echoed in the beer garden’s design. Guests can expect tall palm trees, LA-inspired lounge furniture and other elements of ‘old Hollywood glam’ to complete the look and feel of the pop-up.
But what about the beer in this beer garden? Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery has brewed an exclusive beer called, L’Abeille et la Fleur or The Bee and the Flower. The beer is a low-alcohol, Grisette-style saison brewed with local wildflower honey. In addition to the specialty brew, guests can enjoy additional cocktails and a special PHS cider served up by staff from the Old Eagle Tavern.
The garden is open from 9:30 AM–7 PM daily, but guests can’t purchase drinks until after 4 PM. The Shops at Liberty Place are located at 1625 Chestnut Street, and the garden can be found in the Rotunda.
