The New T Street in Atlantic City Could Be Just the Venue the City Needs

The newly opened T Street on the Atlantic City boardwalk sits inside The Playground (formerly the Pier Shops at Caesars). It’s a concert venue, bar and grill, and beer garden that’s appealingly different from anything else at the Jersey shore.

T Street is not just one concert venue or one drinking establishment. It’s a 90,000 square foot enclosed music alley that starts with Monkey Bar at the head of a “street” with five small music bars lining either side, designed to be reminiscent of Music Row in Nashville. The five venues include the Prohibition-themed 1921, Texas-themed TAG, jazz and bluegrass oasis Purdy, dueling piano bar Bo’s, and The Bluey, an Irish pub.

At the end of the street is 39N, a concert venue that accommodates larger national and regional touring acts and holds more than 2,000 guests. Riviera, an outside beer garden overlooking the ocean, is set to open soon. Each venue has its own bar and specialty drinks, but Garces Events Down the Shore created just one food menu shared by all T Street’s indoor venues. Guests can pass freely from bar to bar with drinks and food in hand.

Here’s a sampling of the specialty cocktails guests can sip at each venue.

All T Street’s venues overflow with extensive craft beer lists, with New Jersey brews well represented by the likes of Flying Fish, Carton, Forgotten Boardwalk, and Cape May Brewing. The bars at T Street cater to all palates and also offer Budweiser and Miller beers and a limited variety of wines.

On opening night, T Street buzzed with energy and live music. We sampled drinks and food while walking through each bar. Carrying a Bluecoat Barrel Finished Gin on the rocks from one venue to the next, we grabbed as many samples as possible of Steel Pier Fries loaded with jumbo lump crab meat, Old Bay seasoning, and a house made Sly Fox cheddar sauce. Another winner from the opening night samples was the Prohibition Burger topped with bourbon glazed cipollini onions and blue cheese.

T Street is now open seven days a week. Venues open weeknights at 5 PM, with music starting at 8 PM. The music starts at 2 PM on the weekends and goes well into the night. Guests must be 21 or older to enter. Monkey Bar and Riviera are open at 11 AM daily, while 39N has live acts and sporting events booked on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
