Sip in Your Sandals at Seaside Heights' Wine on the Beach Festival, Sept. 12-13

Seaside Heights keeps the summer fun going after Labor Day with Wine on the Beach, Saturday and Sunday, September 12-13 from noon to 5 PM. Ten New Jersey wineries will be pouring samples of over 200 wines from the Outer Coastal Plain and other parts of the state. The event is New Jersey’s first wine festival held right on the beach. Festival goers will be able to simultaneously have a glass in their hand and their toes in the sand.

Participating wineries include Coda Rossa Winery, Dimatteo Vineyards, Monroeville Vineyard & Winery, Ventimiglia Vineyard, Wagonhouse Winery, and more. Check out the full list of wineries here.

Wineries will have bottles and cases of the wines they’re sampling for sale. Bottles can be opened and enjoyed in a designated area on the beach. Picnic baskets and outside coolers are permitted at the festival, but no outside alcohol is allowed on the grounds. Coolers will be checked at the festival entrance for outside alcohol.

Local musicians including the Garden State Philharmonic will provide music to sip by on a beachfront stage. Over a dozen vendors and crafters plus seven local restaurants will set up on the boardwalk for anyone walking the Seaside Heights boards to enjoy. On Saturday, young and old can kick off their flip flops and join a Lucille Ball look-a-like on the boardwalk to recreate the famous grape stomping scene from “I Love Lucy.” An inflatable obstacle course on the beach will also keep the kids busy. A Wine & Paint seminar rounds out the weekend.

The event will be held on South Beach at Blaine Avenue. Admission is $15 in advance, $20 at the gate and $10 for all Military and First Responders with ID. Spectators (non-drinkers) and those under 21 are free. Proof of age is required to sample. Admission includes a souvenir wine glass and opportunity to sample more than 200 NJ wines. Advance tickets can be purchased online.
