What a wonderful time of year! Some may seize September as the opportunity to pump some pumpkin spice into, well, everything, but for us it means a month of Oktoberfest celebrations with beers to match.
But if heading into the city for a stein isn’t your thing, check out these events happening from September to October throughout South Jersey. From beer fests to mug lifts and everything in between, these are the events you’re bound to find us at this September.
Sept. 12, 10 AM–6 PM
Grab a free bottle of
Flying Fish Brewing Company’s OktoberFish at this three miler, set up around the brewery in Somerdale. Grab a bite from food trucks, play a few tailgating games, and enjoy the live music post-race, which wraps up at the start of the Somerdale Day Festival. Participants get a free beer, along with a stein designed to celebrate the race.
Sept. 14
Compete in this epic stein competition for a chance to compete with some national winners on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and to win an all-expenses paid trip to Germany for the real Oktoberfest. Ott’s will also be pouring $3 Sam Adams beers including the Octoberfest draft.
Sept. 19, 10 AM–6 PM
Cape May’s Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities celebrates the season with an all-day drinking festival.
Cape May Brewing Company will make an appearance among a handful of other local beers with food and live music to round out the day.
4 PM
Get a taste of dozens of the country’s best seasonals at this annual festival with breweries like DuClaw, Oskar Blues, and Tuckahoe already on board to make a showing.
Oct. 3, 10 AM–5 PM
Oktoberfest gets family friendly with an all-day event on Jackson Street. Along with seasonal beers from local and national breweries, you can also try authentic German food and enjoy the live entertainment. There will also be crafts and games for the family, as well as artisans selling handmade items throughout the day.
12 PM
Oktober & Fall Festival at The Wharf in Wildwood
One $30 ticket gets you unlimited access to a German buffet and beer list. Go super authentic with beers from Hofbrau and Hacker-Pschorr, or stick closer to home with Cape May Brewing’s Oktoberfest or some Sam Adams.
Oct. 10
Dogtoberfest at
The Irish Mile
This may be a little late, but it’s definitely worth the wait. The Irish Mile celebrates Haddon Township’s annual Pub Crawl with their own Dogtoberfest, where they’ll tap the best of the best
Dogfish Head beers. That includes 120 Minute on tap, along with Punkin, Namaste, Palo Santo Marron, and Kvasir.
