Get Chilly at La Peg's Ice Bar Through February 13
Things are about to get brisk at La Peg with the launch of Pegsicle, an outdoor bar made out of hand-carved ice.
The idea for “Pegsicle” came from the bar’s chef/owner, Peter Woolsey, who is carving the monstrosity out of 16 blocks of ice himself. One of the special features of the bar will be an ice luge which can be utilized for shots-taking.
Guests can visit from for a special drink menu at the outside bar including $7 hot drinks like mulled wine and spiked hot chocolate. $7 cocktails such as Moscow Mules, Rum Daiquiris and Celery Tonic (gin, celery juice, tonic and lemon), $5 cans such as Sly Fox 113 IPA, Stillwater Classique Saison, Oskar Blues Old Chub Scotch Ale and Blackbird Cider Works Apple Cider, and $7 house wines. They’ll also offer $4 shots which will be perfect to luge, such as Kamikazes (vodka, triple sec and lime), Surfer on Acids (Malibu, Jägermeister and pineapple), and other straight liquor shots.
The bar will have tables and fireplaces to provide comfort and warmth, and patrons can also order drinks from the full bar indoors and enjoy them outside. The ice bar will be open 5-10:30 PM until Monday, February 13—or until the ice melts!
