3/24: Wells 4 Wells and Public House Fundraiser for Clean Water
Let’s talk health, math, and charity, shall we?
In our comfortable city of brotherly love, it’s sometimes easy to forget about those who are in dire need of basic items. 1/6th of the world’s population does not have access to clean water, and in Sub-Saharan Africa (11% of Earth’s population), nearly 1/3rd don’t have access.
1/3rd of Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for approximately 24.5 million people. Depending on who you talk to, whose calculator you’re using, and how good you are at math, that’s almost 17 Philadelphias.
Public House and Wells4Wells have teamed up to create an event that lets you improve the health of others while you drink to it as well.
Tonight from 8pm-10pm, Wells4Wells and Public House (2 Logan Square, around 18th and Arch) will host a $30 open bar, or drink specials all night with a $5 cover. The end-goal is to raise $5500 across several cities to build a well that provides clean water at a school for over 1000 children in Sub-Saharan Africa.
If you’re planning on going out tomorrow, consider making a difference while you’re at it. Your few beers could help toward saving thousands of impoverished lives.
The lowdown:
$30 Open Bar from 8pm-10pm, or $5 cover that opens up $3 Coors Light/Yuengling, $4 house wine, and select $5 cocktails. Proceeds go to Wells4Wells.
