Weekend Picks April 7-10
Thursday, April 7th
April 7th marks what we like to refer to as the “soft opening” of the repeal of Prohibition. It was on this day that FDR’s amendment to the Volstead Act (known as the Cullen-Harrison Act) became law, and manufacturers could legally produce and sell beer of 3.2% alcohol by weight.
We’ve partnered with packs of bars in Center City/Rittenhouse, Old City and South Philly, and will be setting up challenges through the free application SCVNGR.
The event runs all weekend, from Thursday to Saturday. For more details and a list of participating bars, click here.
