6/18: Wine Safari @ The Philadelphia Zoo
The Philadelphia Zoo is launching their inaugural Wine Safari, the proceeds from which will benefit the Philadelphia Zoo and the animals in their care.
The "Safari" will feature dozens of wines to taste from, along with "presentations from wine connoisseurs, unique gastronomic pairings and wine-themed conservation information," and will take place rain or shine. The event will run on June 18th from 5:30pm-8pm.
In keeping with the Zoo’s mission to support sustainability; all wines will be supplied by local vineyards that are reflective and inspired by global habitats.
There are three ways you can attend:
- Join the Friends of the Philadelphia Zoo and get two free tickets, plus membership benefits for a full year.
- Purchase a $100 General Admission or $40 Designated Driver Ticket (includes non-alcoholic beverages and access to food sampling stations)
- Sponsor the event for $1000, and receive four tickets for adults, a personal guided tour, and sponsorship recognition.
A very limited number of tickets are going to be sold, and will be available through advance only purchase only. There will be no tickets available at the door! Tickets for the Wine Safari are available until Monday, June 6th 2011. This event is 21+ only.

Also, bring in your corks!
The Philadelphia Zoo is an official collection location with ReCORK by Amorim (previously ReCORK America), a natural wine cork recycling program. Your corks will be used to replace petroleum-based material in SOLE (sustainable comfortable shoes) and other Re-Use Partners' products and packaging. By taking part in ReCORK's recycling program, you are helping with the Philadelphia Zoo’s tree planting initiative, spreading the word about the importance of the cork forests, and encouraging companies to make more sustainable products.
